Dear friends with red noses,

Since 2006, your initiative in the children's ward has been actively helping hospitalized children to overcome their fear of the hospital environment. Your entire Chance 4 Children team does an incredible job for sick children who forget, at least for a moment, to separate from their loved ones.

Good mood, laughter and giggles surround you wherever you go. That laughter is one of the best drugs is nothing new. Laughter has been shown to speed up natural healing processes, stimulate proper breathing, strengthen the will to live, positively affect the immune system and release hidden healing powers.

And how do children react to you?

"I like clowns, they have red noses and funny shoes,"

"They inflate balloons, play our guitar and sing songs",

"They paint us on a spiderman's face, they give us coloring books"

And what about the parents?

"Great idea", we often hear from their mouths. The parents of the children welcome your visits and it has not happened to us that they would refuse to visit the Clown Doctor.

We would especially like to thank you for your cooperation in the project "Don't be afraid of the hospital", which is intended for children from the first grades of elementary school. There is great interest in this event on the part of schools. Last year alone, 320 children from all over our region took part in the "Don't Be Afraid of the Hospital" project.

Many thanks to you for helping to overcome the distress and stress of children, for your regular return to our ward, for helping to improve the mental well-being of small patients!

I have always witnessed cheerful and satisfied children during your presence on the ward, even though some of them have had great health problems. Their condition has always improved, at least for a while.

Thank you very much for all the years since 2008, which you have dedicated with love and warm care to pediatric patients hospitalized in our department of the R + S Hospital in Benešov.

Good day, Dr. Clown!

It is very good that we can make the children happy together with you.

For the second month in a row, we have been distributing Lego gifts that you have provided to our and ENT departments. "He who plays does not get angry," a saying or truth. Each of us knows that if we give a child a toy that fascinates him, he will forget about everything around us and play. Lego, Duplo and many others have been such toys for several generations.

And what are the reactions of children? "It's Lego!" "Thanks!"

Some children take the gift timidly and still examine their mother if they really can. Sparks of happiness shine in their eyes. There are also children who do not react and put the gift in their pocket without any expression of emotion. Is it little for them, trinket? I don't know.

I also encountered my parents' reaction, which really threw me off balance. As the surprised little girl looked at the kit, her dad pulled a wallet out of his pocket and wanted to pay Lego. They say they can't just take such a gift. He probably didn't get anything for free in his life, he had to pay for everything.

It is very good that we can make the children happy together with you.

Let me express my sincere thanks and deep gratitude to you in this way and on our behalf for providing the generous gift of many LEGO modular sets, whose products have long been among the best that our generation can offer its children thanks to its renowned quality, educational focus and motivational charge.  Undoubtedly, with their help, the stay in our ward will become a bit more acceptable and interesting for many sick children. At the same time, please pass on to all "Dr. Clown" activists, interested LEGO staff and your organization, and all other stakeholders, our sincere appreciation and admiration for the efforts they undoubtedly put into implementing the activities and programs presented in your flyer. Something so small can do great things.

Our dear Doctors clowns and all of you!

I would like to thank you all on behalf of the children's ward of the hospital in Kladno.

Thank you for the patients, their companions, but also for the medical staff. Thank you for everything you do for "us". Not only do you cheer up sick children, you make them forget about the pain and suffering in their hospital, but you also mentally encourage their parents, nurses and doctors.

You know, when I meet a Doctor Clown team (two "clown girls" lately) in the hallway, I realize that there are still people among us who are able and willing to pass on joy in their spare time, often probably even after their work, well-being and peace in children's souls… When children go home, they protect their balloon animals, swords and hearts… so that they do not accidentally damage them.

And it's not just visits to the ward for sick patients, but also material gifts that you prepare for our ward and receive from sponsors. Be it computers that children can't get away from (sometimes we "tear off" even visitors who sit down at the computer instead of talking to their child - unfortunately), but also LEGO kits. Thanks to you and this company, we can give gifts in the form of a disassembled small figurine for the bravery in the children's outpatient clinics and collection box. It is a great success for children. Also on the ward, children will be rewarded by LEGA for some painful performance. We have older kits added, because sometimes some parts "roll" differently than they should. The kit will also entertain children on the reception on the 2nd floor, but we have to fill it up more often. The children also welcome the smaller kits they receive from Dr. Clown.

We also welcomed crayons and coloring books with charming Krkoun characters, games stuck on the floor and bean bags in the games room and other gifts. It will brighten up your stay in our ward and many children will enjoy it.

To the amusement of the staff, these were musicals for which we thank you.

Friends, I know you do a lot of work with great dedication and great engagement. It is also thanks to sponsors and good people, which is not always easy to find nowadays.

I appreciate your work and I bow before you. Hold on, the baby soul deserves it…

Dear Dr. Clown,

We would like to thank you and your entire team for your activity and the care you give to children who are hospitalized in the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Regional Hospital Kladno a.s.

Children who are hospitalized with us and their parents, evaluate your work very positively and are always looking forward to your next visit and inform other children and parents, because new children and parents are asking for you.

The hospitalization period (of the children in our ward) is shortened and their free time, which always drags on in the hospital, is filled with your visits. Your visits are appreciated both by young children and even teenagers.

The next day after your visit, the department is full of colorful flowers and animals made of balloons and the pediatric surgery ward looks happier. Children feel better and our work is more pleasant for us.

Our dear Clowns!

The year has come again. It has been a year of beautiful cooperation with you, who bring joy to our pediatric patients. It´s difficult to express how you help them laugh, improve their mood, forget about pain and suffering for a while. It is not always just physical pain, but more and more children with a aching soul. Whether it's from home, when parents divorce, when someone in the family dies or when they feel domestic violence… Bully from classmates also often hurts. And I don't even talk about the children from the orphanage who want to go back to the family and they don't want to accept them… These are sometimes so sad stories that they bring tears to our eyes.

Then when you come to the ward, it's as if it lights up. It's fun, the kids are laughing, singing, learning different skills. Even the accompanying parents mood improves and not to mention the staff!

We are glad to come to us. You are so dedicated, you dedicate your free time to it, you are still in a good mood.

 I know that Chance 4 Children has activities not only in our republic, but also around the world. It is a meritorious voluntary work.

You provided our patients with LEGO kits, they received them for the pain they had to endure - blood sampling, lumbar puncture and the like. Now they get toys in a box, which they like to play with. The wonderful coloring pages of the Krkouns designed by Ms. Anděl are loved by children. You gave us a lot of other games and things that made them happy.

 You also thought of the children who come to us from the street with clothes. We can change them into clean clothes for the most necessary time - for example, on a trip to an orphanage before their difficult situation is resolved.

 You also don't forget about the employees of the children's department. eg tickets to theaters, circuses, etc.

 There are definitely a lot of things I haven't remembered, but the fact is that you try to help and make the most of it. Thank you all very much for all this. The children who met you and their parents would certainly join in. There is also very good cooperation with J. Rafal Wojas. He is a selfless man with a heart in his hand, such a sunshine. But you are all sunshine !!!

Thank you very much for everything, we hope that the cooperation will continue. I wish you to get a lot of good sponsors, because I believe in good people and we still have a lot of them! Many who do not give "mammon" in the first place, but family, interpersonal relationships and help to the needy.

As in the previous year, this year's visit confirmed that the laughter and pleasant environment that clowns convey through their performances is the best medicine and cure. This is confirmed by the glowing eyes and happy faces of hospitalized children, who are at least relieved for a while and thus better tolerate the treatment in our facility. We have been cooperating with you for several years. In recent years, with you personally, currently your trained colleagues, who are also very popular with children and staff.
